Conference Info

This year’s British Postgraduate Philosophy Association (BPPA) annual conference and careers day will be held at the University of Birmingham on 3rd – 5th July 2018. This year’s conference aims to celebrate Women* in Philosophy and, in line with this theme, confirmed keynotes include:

  • Professor Heather Widdows
  • Professor Alison Jaggar
  • Professor Veronique Munoz-Darde

The first two days of the conference will also feature 17 postgraduate presentations, and the third day will be a careers day focused on workshops on inclusivity (featuring talks from, amongst others, the University of Birmingham’s Women In Philosophy group and Minorities and Philosophy (MAP UK)).

The conference is generously funded by:

  • The Mind Association
  • The Analysis Trust
  • The School of Philosophy, Theology and Religion, University of Birmingham.

 

The events of the conference will take place in the ERI (European Research Institute) Building, G3 on the Edgbaston campus.
